Moving Back to Provo

To start off, I believe we forgot to post this picture with the rest of Joseph's one year pictures.

So, we're going to be doing a little bit of catchup to get our blog up to date. Ever since we got back from Hawaii, we started working on packing up to move back to Provo for the MBA program and have been a little busy.  So, here's our summer catchup.

To help beat the heat, we decided to get Joseph a little pool.  We definitely had a lot of fun swimming on the patio.

Another fun summer treat that we've had was corn on the cob.  A number of months ago, we found out that Joseph really likes corn on the cob.  So, as corn came on sale this summer, we knew we had to take advantage of the deals.  Here are a few pictures of our little boy enjoying some corn on the cob.

It takes a while to eat when you only have 4 teeth...

But it surely tastes very yummy.

Now as tasty as corn on the cob is, Joseph has discovered an even better summer treat- ice cream.

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Recently, Joseph has begun to take an interest in shoes.  Not so much his own yet, but definitely mommy and daddy's shoes.  He'll try putting his feet in our shoes and, sometimes, we end up with some funny situations.

While we were out at a restaurant, Joseph also decided he wanted to try out a lemon. We were sitting at the table and Joseph started pointing at the lemon on Jodie's cup and saying "that".  So, we got the camera ready and gave him the lemon.  Here's what followed.

First, we took a nice big bite.

Then after a quick shudder, we get this look.

Despite the confusing taste, he kept eating; even asking for another.

Another fun activity over the summer was celebrating Auntie Sari's birthday.

Happy birthday!

Over the summer, Joseph has been taking swim lessons.  They are designed to teach infants how to roll over and float in case they fall in the pool.  Joseph has been doing very well and making us very proud.  Here's a picture of our little fish floating on his back.

While it wasn't a very fun activity, the thing that dominated our summer was packing.  It was definitely very tough on our little boy to have his play area gradually disappear every time he went down for bed.  However, we were able to find a few activities to make packing a little more enjoyable.  Such as helping mommy pack.  Joseph would go and collect his toys and then put them in boxes that mommy was packing; some that were already packed too.  As a result of the fun game, we found a number of Joseph's toys in all kinds of different boxes once we got to Provo.  Anyway, here's our proud little helper.

Another fun side effect of packing was that there were more nooks and crannies to explore.

Now, we are finally all moved in and made our transition back to Utah.  One of the very exciting things for Joseph is that we have a yard that he can play around in- he is really loving it

So much space to explore.

Happy sabbath and have a great night!
