October has been a really fun month for us. At the beginning of the month, we got a coupon from Krispy Kremes in the mail where you could get a free pumpkin shaped doughnut. Since we hadn't introduced Joseph to the joys of a fresh Krispy Kreme doughnut, we decided to take advantage of the offer. Needless to say, Joseph definitely enjoyed the doughnut, but it took him a while to figure out that he is supposed to eat it. Rather ironic because he will try to eat rocks, twigs, and dirt without a moment's hesitation. Anyway, here he is enjoying his doughnut.
Another new thing that Joseph got to experience was whip cream. We had pancakes one morning and Joseph got to have some on his pancake. The downside is that he now knows that he likes it and recognizes the can. Very frequently now, when you open the fridge, he will run to the door and try to grab the can to do this.
And he'll say "mmmmm" the whole time. Luckily, he hasn't figured out how to make the whip cream come out yet.
Another thing that Joseph has learned about is fruit loops. On almost a daily basis, this next sequence of pictures will occur. First, Joseph will climb into the cereal cupboard and grab something. Previously it was cheerios, then cinnamon toast crunch. Lately, it has been fruit loops.
Once he finds his desired cereal of choice, Joseph will find you, if you're lucky. It doesn't matter where you are, he'll bring you the cereal bag to open; which is a pretty impressive feat considering their comparable sizes. If you're unlucky, Joseph will try to open the bag on his own. Such was the case two days ago when he emptied all the fruit loops onto the kitchen floor.
We definitely love fruit loops.
Earlier in the month, we've been getting a few storm coming through Provo. One of them made a really nice rainbow and we got a fun picture of Jodie.
Over the past month, Joseph has really been into climbing on anything he can. He's always enjoyed climbing, but not like this past month. Here's an example, even a little block becomes an obstacle to surmount.
Last week for family night, we decided to take Joseph to a pumpkin patch. His favorite part of the whole experience was the cow- she even mooed at him.
We also spent some time in the petting zoo too. We liked checking the animals out...
just as long as they didn't get too close.
We met a few friends.
Checked out the turkeys.
Overall, we had a lot of fun at the pumpkin patch.
This week, we also had our first snow storm of year.
All in all, it wasn't too bad- most of the snow in the valley melted shortly afterwards. However, the mountains still have snow on them and it was an ominous foreshadowing of things to come.
This past Friday night, we went to our ward's Halloween party and Joseph dressed up as a doctor.
And we got to help mommy and her beehives with the face painting booth.
Although October isn't completely finished, it has a been a really fun, busy month here.
