8 Months

Here's Joseph's 8 month old pictures- amazing how fast time flies.

So, what's this little 8 month old up to?  Not too much, just the usual.

Playing some bball...

Playing the piano...

Helping daddy play the guitar...

And crawling!

When we got home from Utah, Joseph surprised us by crawling around the front room.

Between crawling and standing up on our own, we are dangerously mobile.

Shaun's Birthday

Over the weekend, we had a quick get away so that I could interview with BYU.  We had a great time visiting and here are some of the pictures from our weekend.

After my interview on Friday, we had a birthday eve celebration for Shaun, Jodie's brother.  One of the best parts of the night was that Joseph got to hang out with his cousin, Bowen.  At first, they weren't quite sure what to make of each other, but they warmed up pretty well to each other.  Here they are playing with Joseph's piano.

However, Bowen seemed to be a little more interested in the piano than Joseph.  What could Joseph be interested in?

Uncle Chad's phone...

Bowen still going strong with the piano.

We had a nice feast for Shaun's birthday eve.

Here's the birthday boy.

While one brother tried to blow out the candle, the other tried to light everything else on fire.

It required some intervention from big sister.

Shaun, Kirsten, and Bowen.

What a loved little boy.

Bowen really liked his dad's party hat.

And Chad's glasses- I am amazed that they are still in one piece with how much both of the little boys loved playing with them.

On Saturday night, we got together and went out to dinner for Shaun's birthday.  On Chad's recommendation, we went up to Lehi to eat at Barbacoa.  I was very impressed- one of our new favorites.  After dinner, we went back to Chad's place and took some pictures.  Unfortunately, it was way past Joseph's bed time and he wasn't too happy about the idea of pictures.  However, Bowen was quite the trooper and was very happy throughout all the pictures.

As can be seen here, he was plenty happy to just be part of the crowd.

Joseph... required some extra attention.

However, we had a few moments where we were still happy and managed to get some good pictures in.

Here are the two cousins together in their matching overalls that uncle Chad bought them.

Bowen loved walking around the house with his uncle.

Here's Chad impersonating Joseph.

Regardless of their mood, both boys definitely love their uncle.

A happier moment for Joseph.

The three siblings with the rising generation.

All the gang together for a final picture before we came back home to Tucson.

Happy birthday Shaun!

Snow- Tucson Style

On Arizona's centennial birthday, a.k.a Valentine's Day, we had some very uncharacteristic Arizona weather, which included snow.  Here is a picture that Jodie took of the mountains by our house.

With the unusual weather, we decided it would be a good opportunity to go up to Mt Lemmon and introduce Joseph to snow.  So, yesterday we drove up to Ski Valley on Mt Lemmon.  When we got out, we made Joseph a snowball.  So, what does Joseph do? He tries to eat it.

In fact, he loved trying to eat his snowball and he wouldn't let it go.

I was amazed how interested he was in holding onto the snowball- I thought for sure that he would have dropped it.

Here's Joseph's hand print in the snow.

The one thing that Joseph didn't like about the snow was getting down into it.

It was much more enjoyable from a safe distance- obviously taking after his parents opinion.

Here is a picture of the southern most ski resort in the US.

Here's a few pictures of us around the ski resort.

I love how well Joseph's peach fuzz is growing in.

It was about this time that Joseph decided he had seen enough snow and it was time to head back home.

Here are some random pictures from the week.

Jodie took this picture of Joseph one morning- happily reading his book.

Joseph has a new favorite movie- Rio.  He especially loves all the music and the bright colored birds.  Although mommy is definitely very happy that Joseph loves his movie about Brazil, daddy may get the last laugh because the movie is translated into Spanish, but not Portuguese.

Anyways, its a cute movie and, if you haven't seen it, Joseph highly recommends it.  Even if you have to strain your back to watch it.

Lastly, Joseph is working on a new trick-standing up on his own.  This past week, he has started to pull himself from flat on his stomach to a standing position without any assistance.
