Visitors and Birthday Parties

Ok, so it's been a while since we last blogged, so here's the month of April all in one shot. It's been a great month of visitors and birthdays.

First, we had Annie and James for a weekend while Robert and Emily had a weekend getaway. It was our birthday gift to Robert this year- a weekend of free babysitting. We had so much fun with the kids!!! We had playtime in the bath, watched movies, played the wii, went to the park, went to the pool, went shopping and got some fun toys, etc. It really was a blast!!! We missed them when they left. Here are some pics...

Annie enjoying a swing at the park.

James saw me pushing Annie and wanted to try. He had so much fun trying to get her really high and she just giggled most of the time.

When Uncle Mark got home from work we had lunch and wii time before naps. James is a wii pro! Uncle Mark loves his little Annie! :)

On Sunday morning we had pancakes for breakfast. Annie ate those suckers up!

James got a "J" and Mickey Mouse shaped pancake. It was fun coming up with different ways to convince James to eat his food. Mark did a great job...James ate these like a champ!

That night when Robert and Emily came to pick the kids up they brought a little party with them- balloons, cupcakes, and a present! Thanks guys! :) Here's James helping me blow out the candles.

And the gift....oh you wouldn't believe how amazing this is. Yes, thanks to Robert and Emily I can have "perfect volume and effortless style" in minutes...with BUMP IT! :) Okay for those who don't know, it's a huge inside joke for us. Let's just say Mark calls these bumps "dinosaur bumps" and whenever we see one he makes a dinosaur grawl with his hands positioned like a raptor. So now he can enjoy the bump it on his wife. This definitely made for some good laughs that night as we opened it up and Emily styled away.

There's a mini bump it...Annie and I had to try them together.

No words...LOL! Annie: Really!?!

When I came into work the day of my birthday, this is what my desk looked like. The board was also totally decorated. Shev (the teacher I share a room with) totally spoiled me. It was fun. She even had an all pink lunch for a few of us to celebrate my day. Thanks Shev! :)

A glimpse of my birthday. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes and wonderful gifts. I love you all. Mark gave me the barbie doll. I was very excited and impressed. I got a hula barbie when I graduated from high school but my mom liked it so much that when I was on my mission it became part of their Hawaiiana decor- where it has stayed. Every time we go home I always point it out to Mark. So he remembered that and ordered me one so I can have one in both homes. He's a good listener! :) Thanks cutie!

Well my dad has sworn he would not come to Arizona- "it's too hot!" But he came!!!! Mom and dad came down for a visit and made it so they could be here when Shaun and Kirsten stopped by on their way down to Florida. We truly had a BLAST with everyone here! We got to do a lot of things, but I kept forgetting the camera. So we only have pictures from the weekend when Mark was off work- he's our camera man!

Last Christmas when we went to Washington we planned to bring our Wii. My dad loves boxing and we thought it would be a fun family event- once he heard the idea he shot it down though- video games are a waste. But when he came down I think he fell for the Wii. It was fun watching the boys play. Father and son action shots...

Okay so side note....notice the little girl on the couch under a fleece blanket with a sweatshirt on. And notice the boys wearing shorts and t-shirts. I know, I'm pretty pathetic...but the AC was a bit cold!

On Saturday we went up to the Mesa Temple. It was fun to show mom and dad some beautiful landscaping in Arizona. They loved seeing the different plants and trees they recognized. It was fun for me to hear dad talking about the different plants and telling us about them. It was also fun to be at the Mesa Temple since it's the only other temple in the world built like the Laie Hawaii temple.

Shots from Saturday night, before Shaun and Kirsten headed out to Florida.

I think Shaun won!?!
My amazing parents! I love you guys so much!

Gotta love Shaun's action shots.

Sunday before church.
After church we came home to mom and dad cooking in the kitchen. Oh how we were so excited!! I love it when my daddy cooks! They made a birthday dinner for Mark's brother John.

The kitchen masters...
Happy Birthday, John!!! :)
The bros!
Make a wish!
Tonight John came over and we were able to give him his birthday present- a croquet set. Don't the balls look like giant gum balls? Looks like we'll be having some Brems croquet games down in Tucson...training for the annual Thanksgiving game! :)

Well, that's our month. We are continuing to enjoy life and its events!
