Birthday, Texas Style

On Saturday, we decided to take Joseph to the Grapevine Vintage Railroad for an early birthday celebration.  His love for trains has only grown over the past year, so we thought it would be a fun experience for him.  It was definitely a big hit.  We got to the Fort Worth Stockyards, we told Joseph that we were going to go on a train ride.  He got the biggest grin and started saying, "Oh, garwsh" like Goofy does- we had never seen him this excited before.  Here he is waiting for the train in his engineer outfit.

He was just in awe being so close to the train as it pulled up.

Once on board, we went to our seat in the train car; Joseph was in Heaven.

I'm not sure how old the passenger car was, but it was really neat inside.

Once we got started, Joseph was all smiles; it was really fun for us to see him light up so much.  I think he spent 99% of the trip just looking out the window.

Here's a short video we got from our train ride.

Shortly after we started, the conductor came through to punch all of our tickets- here is Joseph getting ready to hand over his ticket to the conductor.

Joseph was fascinated by him from a distance.  However, as he came closer, we weren't so sure if we wanted to take a picture with him though.

Just enjoying the sites around Fort Worth.

This was the car we got to ride.

After the train ride, Joseph asked to go on a horse ride.  Naturally, once it got started, he got a big grin and started saying, "faster!"

Here's our little cowboy.

After our horse ride, we watched the cattle drive through the stockyards.

And we saw a baby train...

Here is our train.

It was a fun day and a great birthday celebration for a very special 3 year old boy.
