Here's Jenna and my mom, who also officiated this meet too, on Friday. For those of you who don't live in Phoenix, it was pretty cold here on Friday (Thursday night it got below freezing). That cold of temperature can make swimming in outdoor pools a lot tougher, but Jenna performed very well and qualified for the second day in all four of her events (only the top 16 swimmers in the state compete on the second day).
Saturday was a much warmer day and was perfect for swimming. Here's a picture of Jenna diving off the blocks for their medley relay (the first event of the day).
Swimming the butterfly... she's the one with the blue cap.
This was Jenna's support crowd. We all had these bright orange shirts that said SWIM on the front and Team Jenna on the back. It was a lot of fun and we even were on TV because of our shirts.
Here is Jenna diving in the water for her 100 Butterfly.
I thought this was a cool picture of her turn.
This is the third event, the 100 Backstroke.
Then the last one was the 4x100 Freestyle Relay
Both the relays got third place overall and Jenna was in the top 10 for her individual events.
After the swim meet, we went over to my mom's house to go trick or treating with Robert, Emily, James, and Anna. It was so much fun going trick or treating with James. After a while of walking down the streets, he began singing on the top of his lungs a bunch of songs- twinkle, twinkle, little star, popcorn popping on the apricot tree, I am a child of God. It was very cute. But here's a picture of our little ghost.
In one section, he also stopped every ten feet or so and wrote a letter in the dirt. Then he would say what letter it was.
Here is another picture...
I tried to get a picture of James trick or treating, but I felt bad using the flash too much. But anyway, here is as close as I got.
I loved how Jodie and Anna totally matched each other with their bright orange.
Afterwards, we went to my mom's house and had dinner. She had made some very good cookies and Robert stole Anna's bid to try and get some more cookies...
Well, that's all the pictures that we have from our fun weekend. It was so much fun to see Jenna swim and to go out trick or treating with Anna and James. Plus, we also got to meet and spend some time with a future sister-in-law. So, it was a fun and very exciting weekend for us.
